Two Stories Meeting Between Art, Ocean and Resilience

Why Padang Surfing Exists

Padang Surfing was born from the encounter between Sabrina’s artistic vision and Fabrizio’s strength.
Each artwork contributes to the creation of the new prosthesis and to the future support center in Indonesia for children with disabilities.
Art, ocean and resilience flowing into a single wave.

Sabrina Ravanelli (Artist)

Italian artist, trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
Her work explores the archetypal states of the soul — primordial energies rising from chaos and taking shape as inner landscapes.

She exhibits internationally and participated in the 2017 Venice Biennale.
From her research into this “original core”, the Padang Surfing series was born: an artwork that unites artistic gesture, the ocean, and a profound human dimension.

Fabrizio Passetti (Surfer)

Italian surfer, born in 1982, raised among the waves of Varazze.
At 18, he lost his right leg in a severe accident — but never lost his bond with the sea.

After a long rehabilitation, he returned to surfing thanks to a specially designed prosthesis.
He went on to ride legendary waves, including the powerful swells of Padang Padang in Indonesia — a place considered challenging even for able-bodied surfers.

Today Fabrizio continues his athletic and human journey with a clear mission:

To open a support center in Indonesia for children with disabilities,
where the ocean and sport become tools of strength and freedom.
